We did some remodelling of Alex the giant walking lantern for the 2025 lantern parade. I thought it would be nice to share some of the photos on the website as well as on social media. Thank you to Gemma Whitford (artist) and Charles Line (wild+free) for photos used here. Our usual photographer (John Thompson) was of course performing as Alex. You can see his beard just peeking out of the costume.
Some artists lanterns also processed alongside (Steve Davies, Chris Pegler and Jenny Ball). We were delighted to be processing alongside the Rugby Yarnbombers and also Vikki Skinner (as a Christmas fairy) and the massive Christmas tree masterminded by Kate Morris, and worked on with many community groups.
I am neither confirming nor denying rumours that Jenny has already started designing a life size horse for 2026. Really hoping that this lantern parade continues to get bigger and better.
