ALEXANDRA ARTS OR ART AT THE ALEX? The name on the front of the building identifies us Alexandra Arts (short for The Alexandra Arts Company Ltd). The hanging sign and our logo and online ID reads Art at the Alex, and that is how we describe our activities here.
Art at the Alex is housed in what was, until 2021, a pub. Originally part of a terrace of Victorian houses and named the Alexandra Arms (more recently the Alexandra Tavern), but commonly referred to simply as ‘The Alex’. If you want to know more about the history look here. (LINK). As owners of the Alex, Chris and Steve also did an podcast interview about how it started off for The Story Farmer in 2023.

Located in Rugby Town Centre, Art at the Alex is also close to Rugby rail station and the coach depot (0.5 miles) and near to town centre bus stops. Next door is the John Barford multi-storey car park and adjacent to this is the Railway Terrace car park. This map shows how the Alex fits within the town, including some other interesting places to visit.
Although we are licensed to serve alcohol we mainly serve tea and cake, and savoury treats by vegan chef Sadie Farrell (not Sundays). If you would like to drink hand pulled real ale the 2024 Warwickshire Camra Pub of the Year is very close indeed – The Seven Stars.
