of our favourite events last Autumn was the Talk Like a Pirate evening led by Keith and Kate of The B Road and with Matt Black (poet extraordinaire) and various others all adding to a great event. Lots of dress up and lots of fun. So much so that we immediately booked them all for 2025.
Sadly Keith has had health problems, now recovering at home, but significant enough that The B Road are not available to come and play at the Alex. After planning and replanning we decided that it was better to take a break and come back with a full-strength evening of shanties and such in 2026. A more muted programme will replace the evening entertainment if you plan on visiting – this is part of our Heritage Open Days weekend here.
