Just to update you on how things went with the adding of Pete’s books to the art library at Art at the Alex. We have now added bookplates (printed by Steve Davies here at the Alex) to over 50 books which have now joined our others in the Garden Room library. You can visit and refer to these and others. You will be able to spot the ones that Pete has donated as our work experience student Ana added this information to each of them.
Steve Bayne brought along all of the books that Pete had left. Many of them were not art and we sold many of these to visitors in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care over two weekends at end of October. We donated some of the remainder to the Myton Hospice shop. Altogether I am delighted to report that we made £200 for the charity and I donated it this evening. See receipt above.
I hope that these books have found good homes and its pleasing that the sale raised money and also raised the quality and breadth of the Alex’s library. Thank you Pete.
