Alongside all the Northants and Rutland Open Studios activity we have in September this is also a month centred on Heritage Open Days, a national event which we celebrate all month.

This year (our fourth HOD) we are delighted to show Eric Gaskell’s exhibition of ancestry-related art all month, in our Garden Gallery.
During the weekend (19-21 September), we have many craftspeople here showing off their heritage crafts – often with a modern and unusual twist. Some special HOD events to plan around.
Friday 19th September (6-9pm):
We have music and song by a gorgeously costumed Tamsen Flack (local artist @ceramicsnsilks) in the guise of high class Tudor (ahem) courtesan Madam Ann. This will be a lovely relaxed evening on which you can observe some of the studio artists on site at work, some in costumes from other periods.
Saturday 20th September (1.30-3.30pm):
Eric Gaskell will talk about the research into his ancestry that sparked works in his exhibition Family Lines II. A very usual approach to illustrating a family tree by a reknowned lino cut artist.
Sunday 21st September (11-4pm):
While each day we are open this weekend we will have skilled artists showing their take on traditional skills, on Sunday we will have special guest Brian Dickinson showing his approach to glassmaking.
