We are delighted to be asked to provide workshops at the Alex as part of the wider activity offered across the town. (See also the Spring Maddness Easter trail). We are offering three workshops taught by local artists. See details below.

All these activities are FREE entry drop in art activities and suitable for age 7+
Note that under 16s must be accompanied by adults (licensed premises).
Start times of the different activities vary, you can arrive after the start time and join in but suggest you arrive at least 30 mins before the end time to try the activity without too much rush.
Thursday 2nd April (2-4pm): Fabric ‘Egg’ Pouches (with Chris Pegler)
Use fabric paint or simple embroidery to customise a cloth pouch (printed by Steve Davies), creating a special container/packaging on an Easter theme. Something unusual in which to offer Easter treats (or keep for yourself). Perfect for those who do not want to gift an egg. (Note that the treat in the photograph is not included).
Friday 3rd April (2-4pm): Silver Foil Sculpture (with Jenny Ball of Ditherella’s Workshop)
Tear, shape and scrunch silver foil with silversmith Jenny to make a spring flower or other small sculpture. Learn how to turn your Easter Egg foil into art! Jenny usually works in silver but is well known for some very quirky uses of waste materials, for example earrings made from silver and tiddywinks!
Saturday 4th April (12-2pm*): Paint and eat an Easter cupcake (with Sam Basnett of Sam Basnett Illustration)
Paint in watercolours (no prior experience necessary) to create an Easter-themed painting under the guidance of artist Sam Basnett (who also baked the cakes!). Once you are done you can enjoy a great tasting cake or take it home with you.
If you can’t make it before 2pm we will have the materials to paint with and (likely) some left over cakes to offer inspiration from 2-4pm .
Thank you to Rugby Borough Council for funding these activities.
