MALA beds is more than a High Street bed shop. Its owner Huss has been a huge supporter of other businesses and community ventures. Notably the Rugby yarnbombers. Its also a new business – just celebrating its first birthday and doing so with quite a transformation of its showroom!
Art at the Alex was delighted to be asked to add art by local artists to the MALA beds showroom – particularly its front window on Rugby High Street – as part of its birthday party celebrations in June. The art was such a success it has been extended to July 7th. So you can now see the twenty one works by artists Eric Gaskell, IJE, Jane Tilley, Joseph Ryan, Ross McA, Steve Davies, Vikki Skinner for a bit longer. As you can see there is quite a range of work
The ‘Sleeper’ featuring in the MALA beds poster for the event was fashioned from wire by Jane Tilley and was one of several she made (at very short notice) specifically for the event. All artworks are available for sale – if you fancy buying art as well as a bed.
