Steve Davies, co-owner and printmaker extraordinare has achieved a pretty incredible feat. He now (understandably) describes the Leamington Open as his favourite show, having had a two of his works selected for exhibition for three shows running (2022, 2024 and now 2026).
This is such a small exhibition (52 works this year, and 50 last year), and the rejection rate is so high (80-90%), its very rare to have two works (the max) selected for even one of their shows. To have it happen three times? Wow. So proud of him.
If you are in Leamington you can see his work there in the Pump Rooms gallery until 3 May. Another Rugby artist (Faye Spencer) also has a work on show.

ALSO APPEARING AT COVENTY HERBERT ART GALLERY
Steve also has three of his works – the black and white prints showing people viewing paintings – on show as part of the Coventry Art Societies’ Exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry. That show is on until 19th April. Other regular ‘Alex artists’ showing work there are: Aish Magesh, Belinda Edwards, Brian Dickinson, Clare Pentlow, Dee Luntley, Gemma Whitford, Janine and Jamie Tallon, Jenny Pinski, Stephen Baker and Vikki Skinner.
You will see other work at the upcoming LTB @ PVC Random exhibition in Coventry (Priory Visitors Centre) starting on 13th March. You can regularly see work by Rugby artists at other local venues too. Wonderful work from favourite Rugby artists. Of course the highest volume of Rugby artists will be here at the Alex and this is where Steve and others make their work.
