Remember our Queen Alex lantern from last year’s lantern parade? Well she has been in storage since and we have now taken her out to refurbish. Maybe a new headdress and touch of bling?
So if you visit the Alex between now and the lantern parade (its on the evening of 13th December) you may see her under reconstruction and some other smaller artist lanterns besides. Here is a preview of Steve Davies’ work in progress – inspired by a cubist work. Very cool (I had hair like that in the 1980s). But not blue. Hoping for several inspired works by local artists and makers to accompany Alex this year.
