The artists you will meet at the Alex are overwhelmingly local (live in the town or at towns/villages within 15 miles of the Alex). This spans the border into Northants and Leicestershire as well as covering Warwickshire. Occasionally we invite or accept artists from further afield (usually because they won a prize to exhibit here at Rugby Open).
Artists may be here in person or represented by their work, for example:

- Showing work at exhibitions, in cabinets or in card racks
- Attending meetings or taking part in events organised by the Alex or Rugby Artists and Makers
- Demonstrating at events
- Working in a temporary studio space during the two Open Studios events
- Selling work on stalls
- Helping run events here as volunteers (e.g. stewarding exhibitions)
It is common for us to be able to show work by 40+ local artists whenever we are open. Over 120 artists have shown work at the Alex since we opened, most are active members of the Rugby Artists and Makers Network. This network and the Alex have always worked productively together.
